To be shortlisted for the OXBA Hays Employer of the Year 2022 was a huge honour, but to actually win this prestigious accolade at the end of such a difficult two years is incredibly special.
The Award was presented to Principal & Chief Executive, Jacqui Canton, and Head of Human Resources, Kelly Haddrell, at an Awards Dinner held at The John Henry Brookes Building last Friday evening.
The college is deeply committed to its strategic goal of becoming an Employer of Choice, and to Jacqui Canton and Kelly Haddrell the Hays Employer of the Year 2022 Award is a significant recognition of this commitment, and signals an even greater commitment to the college's objectives going forward.
Jacqui Canton said:
"It is an absolute honour to receive the Hays Employer of the Year Award at the Oxfordshire Business Awards on behalf of all staff at the college. I still remember when I first started working at Abingdon & Witney nearly eleven years ago now, and I was so overwhelmed by the positive culture of the college. It's hard to describe it unless you are part of it, but this really is such a special place to be. The work we do is in itself is rewarding; each year we help in the region of 14,000 students to develop their careers and move on to their next steps. But we can only do that through the fantastic team effort of our inspirational staff".
