This course will cover all basic techniques for applying watercolour, from wet into wet, layered washes, dry brushing, glazing, and wax resist. In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
This course is for those ready to explore and further develop their own personal style and painting signature.
During the course you will cover:
All basic techniques for applying watercolour- from wet into wet, layered washes, dry brushing, glazing, and wax resist.
Colour mixing and “palette craft”,
Develop observational skills through still life painting
Advance watercolour skills and apply these techniques to become freer and more expressive through landscape painting.
There will be lots of help and advice, through demonstrations from your tutor, plus one to one guidance and creative work within a supportive group setting. Please do not purchase these until the course has been confirmed. What you need to bring to the first session: A4 watercolour paper pad Small white plate to mix colour on. Jam jar for water Kitchen paper HB pencil and sharpener A range of watercolour paints either tubes or in a paintbox Your tutor will advise you of further art materials that you will need as the course progresses.
