Get a taster of how traditional upholstery techniques work from an industry professional.
This course will provide you with the opportunity to introduce yourself to the idea of upholstery and your ability to undertake a project. In the workshop you will be able to explore in depth if upholstery is for you. You can take time to ask questions whilst working on a practical piece.
If you want to upcycle a characterful chair, or restore an old traditional piece, this course will allow you to dip into some of the skills that you can learn without having to commit to the full course. Bring a small project to work on, a footstool perhaps or a drop-in seat are good suggestions. This is a very practical course with a chance to work your way through a small project from concept to completion.
Abingdon and Witney College is subject to Ofsted regulation and is required to work with all its students to make sure they understand Government initiatives around Safeguarding, Prevent and Fundamental British Values. Information on these matters will be shared with you during your course.
You will also be asked to complete monitoring paperwork, which helps us to deliver course content to the highest quality.
