This exciting programme of visual study gives you the opportunity to explore a full range of approaches to Art and Design.

As well as extending your skills in drawing, you will learn to use a wide range of equipment and many new materials and processes. You will work on a number of experimental and industry related project briefs that introduce you to the Apple Macs, printmaking, 3D, photography, fashion and textiles.
Throughout the course you will receive specialist advice and tutor support on portfolio presentation and preparation for university, apprenticeships and job interviews. On successful completion of the Diploma, students can progress on to the Level 3 Applied General Extended Diploma in Art & Design.

The Level 3 Applied General Diploma is a Level 3 qualification equivalent to 1.5 A Levels.
The Level 3 Applied General Extended Diploma is a Level 3 qualification equivalent to 3 A Levels and is recognised by universities and colleges for entry onto BA and Foundation Degree courses.

Art and Design students from Abingdon & Witney College have an exceptional record in gaining prestigious university places. The course is also recognised as sound professional training by the creative industries.
5 GCSEs at grade C/4 and above usually including English and maths OR
Level 2 Diploma at Merit or above usually including GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 and above.
A portfolio of creative work and a successful interview.
There is a course fee of £100.00 payable at enrolment which includes studio consumables, an art kit, print credits and general resources. There is also a fee of £50.00 for induction / day trips payable via WisePay at the start of term. The total course fee is £150.00.

In addition to the mandatory course materials fee given below there is the opportunity for students to attend a residential trip at the approximate cost of £350 (cost given for guidance only.)

Due to COVID-19 we are not currently planning any trips as part of your course. If we are able to organise trips during your course, the cost of these will be communicated to you at the time. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate. Bursaries may also available to cover the cost of some trips.
