It is planned that this course will be running online, using Teams, for the Autumn Term. This may change, depending on Government guidelines.
This course is for those of you who have completed two years of Spanish. It is a very communicative course where you build up on what you have been learning in previous years. On this course you are encouraged to be creative with the language as there is less emphasis on grammar and verb tenses although you will still work on tenses and grammatical points. There is a lot of emphasis on communication and you will work on idiomatic expressions.
You will work on the past tense with more detail, using different verb tenses to narrate past events with detail. Reflecting on yourself as learners and your techniques, challenging any difficulties you have with the subject, etc. that need to be reviewed. You will then learn about the future tense and talk about what you hope will happen. Eventually all this will lead to work on the imperative to learn how to give instructions or advice which ultimately ends with your first contact with the subjunctive mode.
Please note there will be no teaching sessions on 28/10/2020, 23/12/2020, 30/12/2020, 06/01/2021, 17/02/2021, 07/04/2021, 14/04/2021, 21/04/2021, 02/06/2021.
There are vending machines available where hot/cold drinks and snacks can be purchased. In order to reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles/cups, there are watercoolers on site making it easy to refill your water bottle.
There is no parking on the campus during the day. Please use Marriotts Walk or Woodford Way Car Parks which are a few minutes’ walk away.
Please report to Reception on arrival.
Abingdon and Witney College is subject to Ofsted regulation and is required to work with all its students to make sure they understand Government initiatives around Safeguarding, Prevent and Fundamental British Values. Information on these matters will be shared with you during your course.
You will also be asked to complete monitoring paperwork, which helps us to deliver course content to the highest quality.
