This one year course is designed to give you the advanced skills, techniques and understanding of the trade needed to be successful in this profession. These specialist skills will improve your employability prospects with a specialist site carpentry company and you will be wroking on the same techniques and skills as those on an Advanced apprenticeship programme.

Principles of organising, planning and pricing construction work: Set up and use fixed and transportable machinery: Carry out first fix roofing and stairs: Carry out second fixing double doors and mouldings: Skills and knowledge will cover advanced site carpentry and will include raking moulds, cut roofs, roofs with hipped rafters and fitting stairs with turns.

Employment in the industry or further training to become a fully qualified carpenter or progress onto a HNC in Construction and the Built Environment.
Successful completion of a Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry and GCSE grades 9 - 3( A* -D) in English and maths.
No tution fees for those aged under 19 at 31st August or those aged 19-23 if this is your first level 3 qualification. In addition to the main course fees given below there is an additional cost of £45 for kit/clothing £30 for a course trip and £25 for books. (Costs are given for guidance only.)

Due to COVID-19 we are not currently planning any trips as part of your course. If we are able to organise trips during your course, the cost of these will be communicated to you at the time. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate. Bursaries may also available to cover the cost of some trips.

City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry.
Hands on training and practice in the workshop supported by theory sessions. The course is assessed by completion of practical pieces and on-line theory multiple choice question papers.
