This 7-week course will involve the Introduction to basics in Silver Jewellery making including the use of tools for Sawing, Soldering, Hammering, Annealing, Drilling, Forming and Polishing.In the first few weeks of the course, you will learn the basic techniques to work on the metal in order to create a simple band ring and as the course progresses you will learn how to design and make your own piece of Jewellery under the guidance of the tutor.
In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
• Introduction to the tools used in Jewellery making.• Basic techniques: Soldering, Sawing, Drilling, Cutting, Bending, Hammering, Filing, Polishing and Finishing.• Designing: Applying the techniques you have learnt; you will work on your own creative ideas to design a piece of jewellery of your own choice.• Apply finishing techniques to complete your piece of jewellery.
Please note there will be no teaching sessions on 29/05/2023.
Tea/Coffee are available to make, with a small charge. There is a watercooler on site making it easy to refill your water bottle.Free parking.
