A short course over five weeks that will introduce you to the art of quilting and patchwork. Learn the basic skills that can be built on for a variety of projects. You will gain confidence and skills in a relaxed and friendly learning environment. Please bring your sewing machine, attachments and manual.
During the course you will learn about fabrics, safe cutting out, pattern placement and basic sewing, quilting and patchwork skills to produce a series of panels suitable for Tote bags, cushions, a small quilt or a wall hanging.

Basic sewing equipment:Fabric scissors, paper scissors’, embroidery scissors, rotary cutter and cutting board (if you have these). Colour-headed pins, hand sewing needles, tape measure, tailors chalk, marking pen and tacking thread. 30cm/12” ruler and any patchwork rulers and templates that you may already have.
Additional personal costs to learner (over and above the published fee):Fabric plus sewing thread, interfacing, wadding, backing fabric, cord etc that you may wish to use
Tea/Coffee are available to make, with a small charge. In order to reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles/cups, there is a watercooler on site making it easy to refill your water bottle.Free parking.
