This is a well-recognised qualification accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society. It will enable you to master basic surveying and design principles, learn how to choose the right ornamental and edible plants and how to use greenhouses, polytunnels, and other protected environments.

The qualification supports career development for those already working in the profession, for those wanting to move into the horticulture industry, or for amateurs wishing to increase their knowledge.

This qualification is split into 4 mandatory units as follows:
1. Understanding garden features, plant selection and planning
2. Understanding the choice, establishment and maintenance of garden plants and lawns
3. Understanding the production of outdoor vegetables and fruit
4. Understanding protected environments and their use in plant cultivation

On successful completion you can progress to a L3 horticulture qualification or a career within the industry.
