This course is designed to allow students with severe to moderate learning difficulties to develop independence skills in both college and the community.

The emphasis is on providing support to promote independence through a diverse curriculum which includes:
- Development of English and maths skills
- Independence and work related skills
- Community Projects

If appropriate, work experience may be offered.

Assessments are carried out during the student's final year at school. A place will be offered depending on the outcome of the assessments. A link programme is offered during the summer term prior to the student leaving school.

It is anticipated that students will have a current Education Health and Care Plan. College are likely to be consulted by the Local Authority about whether a place can be offered but you will also need to apply for a place to the college.

Further assessments take place during the student's first term at college in order to confirm Pathway placement.

No formal entry requirements are necessary but students should demonstrate the ability to develop greater independence within a supported environment.
There will be a small weekly fee for cookery ingredients.

Trips and visits may be offered as part of your programme of study but these will be optional and fees will be collected throughout the duration of the course. Details of cost will be provided during the enrolment process if not already above.
