The course is aimed at adults (19+) who are:
• looking for their first job;• been out of work for a while and are now ready to get back into work;• want to change job but need to refresh their job finding skills.
In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
This course aims to build confidence for those seeking employment. It encourages participants to share their experiences with others in the group and look for solutions to challenges and cultivate ideas to help overcome obstacles.
The content of the course will include:
• understand different ways of searching for a job;• know how to get yourself job ready;• understand the need for an appropriate email address;• identify what needs to go on your CV;• identify transferable skills relevant to the workplace;• completing an application form;• interview skills;• writing a personal statement;• creating a list of information to include on an application form.
