This course is for adults with acquired hearing loss who have prior Lipreading experience.
In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
This course aims to progress and continue to develop learners lipreading and communication skills within an informal, relaxed and mutually supportive atmosphere. During the course you will continue to develop your Lipreading skills through demonstration, observation and a variety of practical exercises. There will be discussions for coping with everyday situations using communication strategies and tactics, cause and effect of hearing loss and information on environmental aids.
Straightforward written sentences are used in exercises and on the board to confirm spoken words.
Please note there will be no teaching sessions on 16/02/2023, 06 & 13/04/2023, 01/06/2023.
Tea/Coffee are available to make, with a small charge. There is a watercooler on site making it easy to refill your water bottle.Free parking.
