The Level 3 Engineering course is designed for learners who are interested in developing their knowledge and skills in Engineering. You will develop your understanding of engineering and the scientific applications whilst enhancing your own specialist engineering knowledge. Through a combination of practical assessments and written assignments, the course provides learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for a successful career in this fast-paced industry sector.

Using our state-of-the-art facilities, you will learn a range of technical, practical and academic skills in order to prepare you for a career in the industry, an apprenticeship or further study. The course focuses on the core engineering and scientific applications and the technical and practical skills highly valued by employers in the workplace. By studying the following content; engineering principles and mathematics, interpreting and creating computer-aided engineering drawings, design and manufacture of products, commercial principles and understanding and application of quality systems, you will be well on your way to becoming a vocationally trained, responsive and adaptable individual in this highly rewarding and rapidly developing industry.

• Unit 3 - Engineering Product Design and Manufacture
• Unit 4 - Applied Commercial and Quality Principles in Engineering
• Unit 9 - Work Experience in the Engineering Sector
• Unit 10 - Computer Aided Design in Engineering
• Unit 19 - Electronic Devices and Circuits
On successful completion of the BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Engineering, you can progress onto the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering, gain an apprenticeship or seek operative level employment. Progression to the Level 3 Extended Diploma is subject to successfully completing the Foundation Diploma and passing an interview.
Maths GCSE at grade B/5 or above, and 4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English.
In addition to the main course fees there is an additional cost of £54 for text books and £50 for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). (Costs are given for guidance only.)

Trips and visits may be offered as part of your programme of study but these will be optional and fees will be collected throughout the duration of the course. Details of cost will be provided during the enrolment process if not already above.
