This qualification aims to provide a deeper understanding and awareness of a range of mental health problems. It offers you the opportunity to gain an understanding of the symptoms and triggers relating to a wide variety of mental health problems and how to work with, or interact, with individuals who have them. These are valuable skills, both in a personal and a professional capacity, when dealing with people.

Who is this course for?
The demand for these skills and resources have increased because of COVID19 and it is particularly beneficial for those working in education, health, and social care sectors to have a sound understanding of the range of mental health problems.

What the course will cover:
The course will look at a range of mental health problems including anxiety and stress; phobias; depression, including postnatal depression and bipolar disorder; schizophrenia; obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); eating disorders; dementia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

You will have three months to complete the course and should plan to set aside seven hours per week dedicated to research and writing assignments.

Course Outcomes
