This course is designed for those who learned fundamental Japanese grammar and can understand decent numbers of Japanese words and phrases. This course intends to improve your Japanese listening and speaking skills and broaden your ability to read and write Japanese in context. The lesson will be delivered primarily in Japanese, although key grammatical explanations will be given in English. This course involves a lot of fun activities tailored to get past the post-beginner plateau.
In this course, learners will learn various verb conjugations (e.g., tai-/te-/nai forms) and both polite and casual forms. Grammatical key points will be practised through various communication activities and task-based topics such as talking what one wishes to do and inviting others to join (inviting others to join an activity); making requests (at a hotel): giving instructions (communicating directions); asking for permissions (conversation with senior colleagues); talking about plans (conversation with friends); expressing opinions (News discussion) and; making suggestions (problem-solving scenario).
