Do you enjoy helping others? Would you like to make a positive difference to the lives of service users? A career in health and social care is both challenging and fulfilling. This course provides the basics for working within a wide range of care settings such as schools and care homes, with a variety of care users, from children to the elderly.

The qualification has three elements: an Award, a Certificate and a Diploma. A total of 13 units will be completed to achieve the Diploma. In addition, work experience is a compulsory part of the qualification. As part of your study programme you will be working towards improving your maths and English skills, attend work placements and take part in enrichment activities.

The course consists of core units, mandatory units and optional units which include:

• Communication
• Nutrition
• Care values
• Research Projects
• Healthy Living
• Dementia
This qualification is a passport to study the Level 3 90 credit Diploma in Health and Social Care or the Level 3 Early Years Educator.
4 GCSEs at D/3 and above usually including Maths and English, satisfactory DBS and reference check.
In addition to the main course fees given below there is an additional cost of £65 for kit / clothing, £25 for a course trip and £25 for books. (Costs are given for guidance only.)

Trips and visits may be offered as part of your programme of study but these will be optional and fees will be collected throughout the duration of the course. Details of cost will be provided during the enrolment process if not already above.
