A follow on course for students who have completed the Interpersonal Skills Stage 1 course. The course will offer a more in-depth exploration of a range of theories and methodology relevant to the world of counselling/guidance and interpersonal skills using CBT.
The content of the course includes looking at some of the methods used in cognitive behavioural therapy. You will have the opportunity to explore Karpman’s Drama Triangle theory; examine new models & methods for moving forward; self-analysis sharing exercises; CBT diary and the theory associated with this; the 9 box plan of mind mapping; goal setting and further exercises relating to effective communication skills. This course provides a good insight into the use of therapeutic skills that can assist you and others in life. This course may also help you understand others in the workplace and at home too. You may be able to use these skills to add to your portfolio of helping type subjects.
It will be a friendly, fun course in a safe environment. A book list is provided along with the latest videos and Ted talks to continue independent learning. Why not come along and meet new colleagues and develop your new-found skills in a safe environment.
