The horse is a complex animal and to train them successfully whether for competing or hacking owners and handlers can really benefit from discovering how horse’s learn and how they perceive the world. This course will give you a genuine insight into the horse's psychological make-up with an understanding of how behavioural problems develop and what we can do to solve them. You will have a mix of theory and practical sessions to enable you to learn new approaches of communication and training with your horse in a method they can comprehend. The course will be based at Common Leys Farm where you will have access to the equestrian facilities.

The course will start by looking at how the horse has evolved and the reasons for certain behaviours seen today. Then move on to learning theories. You will discuss common behavioural problems seen in domestic horses, possible causes and solutions.

Further qualifications in horse behaviour.
