An exercise class aimed primarily at the over 60s. An exercise to musicclass for those who wish to maintain/improve their mobility, strength, stamina, muscular strength, posture, coordination, balance, flexibility and work on falls prevention.
This exercise course is aimed primarily at the over 60s – others will be most welcome - to be active, sociable, to be safe and to have some fun.
The course will cover:A range of exercises to work safely on stamina, mobility, muscular strength, posture, coordination, balance, flexibility, falls prevention. Sessions start with a warm-up (seated or standing), then move on to exercises for different parts of the body: e.g. for mobility of the hands – improving grip and ability to open jars, strengthening leg muscles to help with falls prevention. There will be some dance routines for fun and a cool down stretch, followed by a remobiliser to put a spring in one's step. You will need to wear suitable shoes/trainers or socks/stockinged feet for those sitting comfortable trousers or leggings
Course Outcomes
By participating in this course participants will have the opportunity to:· exercise safely on stamina, mobility and muscular strength· work on improving coordination and flexibility· and improving posture and balance.
