This introductory course will give you an insight into both the health and social care and early years sectors, and will enable you to explore the types of roles within each sector. Are you caring and compassionate and interested in a career helping others? Then this is the course for you.

The qualification has two elements: an Award and a Certificate. As part of your study programme you will also have the opportunity to attend a work experience placement, take part in enrichment activities and work on your maths and English skills.

The course consists of mandatory units and optional units which include:

• Principles and Values
• Awareness of Protection and Safeguarding
• Communication
• Equality and Inclusion
• Health and Safety
• Person-Centred Support
This course is ideal for developing basic skills in the health and social care and early years, English and maths before progressing on to the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or the Level 2 Early Years Educator. This course will also provide you with the necessary skills to apply for an apprenticeship.
GCSEs at grade D/3 - G/1 and a successful interview.
In addition to the main course fees given below there is an additional cost of £65 for kit / clothing, £25 for a course trip and £25 for books. (Costs are given for guidance only.)

Trips and visits may be offered as part of your programme of study but these will be optional and fees will be collected throughout the duration of the course. Details of cost will be provided during the enrolment process if not already above.

There are bursaries available to help you with other course cost, call 01235 216 298 for more information.
