It is possible that this course will be running online, using Teams, for the first session 27/09/21.
This course is for learners who have already completed one year of study. You should have some confidence in your spoken Greek and a basic grasp of the fundamentals of Greek grammar. The main aim of the course is to increase your independence in understanding and making yourself understood in a wider range of everyday situations.
In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2 ½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
This course is suitable for those you who have completed Greek Beginners or have studied the language for about 70 hours. The main topics are designed for those of you who wish to converse more in the language when visiting the country as well as allowing for some appreciation of the culture of the Greek people.By the end of this course you will be able to:- talk about where you live and give a small description of your house- use prepositions to say where things are in a house - get information about a hotel and book accommodation when on holidays - make a complaint- write a postcard/email to talk about holidays- talk about your future plans- talk about your past actions- talk about a past holiday- describe people- compare people, places and objects
Please note there will be no teaching sessions on 25/10/21, 20/12/21, 27/12/21, 03/01/2022, 21/02/2022, 11/04/2022, 18/04/2022, 02/05/2022 and 30/05/2022.
There are vending machines available where hot/cold drinks and snacks can be purchased. To reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles/cups, there are watercoolers on site making it easy to refill your water bottle.
Should the Campus car park be full, please use Marriotts Walk or Woodford Way Car Parks which are a few minutes’ walk away.
Please report to Reception on arrival. A photo-id will be issued, for you to wear when you attend classes.
