A one day course aimed at beginners. It will include completing a pedigree chart and family group sheet, finding out how to order a birth marriage or death certificate, utilise census returns and become familiar with online resources.
This one day course will include finding out what you know already; interviewing relatives; looking at organisational skills such as pedigree charts and family group sheets; exploring civil registration certificates for births, marriages and deaths as well as census returns. You will also use the internet and utilise sites such as ancestry.co.uk, findmypast.com, familysearch.org and Free BMD.
In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2 ½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
