The Gateway Centres act as a flexible educational centre within the College in order to engage and prepare you for progression onto a suitable course, employment or training.

Based at Abingdon and Witney campuses the Gateway Centres offer supportive and progressive student-led programmes for 16-18 year olds who are not currently in education, employment or training.

This may be due to missing school because of illness, phobias, caring responsibilities, etc. or not having found your direction since leaving school. If you are interested, and wish to apply for a place, or just to find out more information, then please contact the college on 01993 208008 (Witney) or 01235 216269 (Abingdon) or email

The Gateway Centres at College are places where we listen to what you got to say, find out what you want out of life and find a route to get you there.

Designed for you, you are an individual so we treat you like one. Our Gateway centres have flexible start times for course all year. You will have the chance to try a wide variety of practical subjects that will help build your confidence and skills. We will even help you gain your next maths and English qualification.

There is a high focus on coaching and mentoring to support you getting to the next step.

Students have moved on to Level 1and Level 2 courses at College and have also gone onto apprenticeships.
Students may also wish to seek employment on completion of the course including:
Getting a job – part time or full time
Getting a job that also offers training – Traineeship/Apprenticeship
Finding supported employment
No formal qualifications are required. You will be invited for an interview and assessment to ensure that you are fully supported to successfully complete the programme.
