This intensive course is designed to support candidates who have no previous experience in the gas industry to achieve Gas Safe registration. The course includes both practical and theory training in all areas of domestic gas installations and associated appliances.

The course includes practical and theory training in the following areas:

• gas safety legislation
• basic pipework skills
• unsafe situations
• flueing and chimneys
• ventilation
• combustion (CPA1)
• gas safety controls
• meters and appliances

The course includes the ACS assessment for CCN1 and CENWAT (boilers and water heaters) once the training and on-site manual have been completed.

Successful completion of the course will allow the candidate to apply for Gas Safe registration. In the future, candidates can also undertake additional training to enable them to work on other gas appliances.
Category 2 candidates must possess at least 2 years industry experience or hold a plumbing NVQ2 qualification. Category 3 candidates do not require any industry experience.
