This one-day course will provide you with some basic training in first aid relevant to everyday life.
In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
Who is this course for?Anyone who wants to find out more about everyday first aid and what to do in an emergency.
What the course will cover:This short course will offer the opportunity to learn some basic emergency first aid. You will find out what to do in an emergency using some basic methods of assessment. There will also be the chance to ask about specific skills you would like to learn. You will also find out what to do if someone is unconscious and breathing or is unconscious and not breathing.
Course OutcomesBy the end of this course, you will be able to:
• identify what to do with responsive and unresponsive casualties• recognise how to dress a wound• identify what to do if someone is choking• participate in demonstrations to practise CPR
