Using our state-of-the-art facilities, you will learn a range of technical, practical and academic skills in order to prepare you for a career in the engineering industry, an apprenticeship or further study. The course will prepare to enter the sector by giving them a foundation of knowledge on using manual lathes and milling machines alongside refining correct engineering practices, working effectively in engineering and the principles of manufacturing technology.

On successful completion of this with an overall average of a M or above and the correct Maths and English GCSE grades you will be able to apply for the Level 3 engineering course here at Abingdon and Witney college, you could also work with our team to look for an apprenticeship or find full or part time employment.
4 GCSEs at grade D/3 and above usually including Maths and English or Functional Skills level 1 in Maths and English
In addition to the main course fees there is an additional cost of £54 for text books and £50 for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). (Costs are given for guidance only.)

Due to COVID-19 we are not currently planning any trips as part of your course. If we are able to organise trips during your course, the cost of these will be communicated to you at the time. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate. Bursaries may also available to cover the cost of some trips.
