Drawing from Scratch C is the third part of a two year long drawing course. You can regard the course as a whole or use different terms as a stand-alone course. The course will help you discover, apply and extend your drawing skills, gain confidence in your ability and explore materials and techniques.
In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
During the course you will improve your line and mark making techniques, experimenting and working on more complex compositions, as well as researching other artists work to gain inspiration.
• Use various materials by mark making; line, shape, tone and texture to draw trees and foliage. • How to use a view finder for positioning on paper.• How to draw en plein air. • How to use thumbnail sketches for landscape drawing. • How to extend pieces of drawing work.
For the first session please bring: • A3 drawing pad (cartridge paper) or loose sheets but you will need a drawing board.• Set of drawing pencils from HB – 9B.• Charcoal (will need fixing) or cover with sheet of tissue paper until fixed.• A putty rubber and a firmer drawing rubber.• Pencil sharpener.
Do not buy any materials until your course is confirmed as running.
