The aim is to help you to develop an individual style of working. You will explore construction, drawing, simple perspective, composition design, using colour and tone effectively, and experimental painting techniques.

• Simple still life to establish learner’s level of experience
• Constructing a drawing: relating one form to another.
• Rule of thirds: learners to experiment with designing a series of compositions using this method
• Rule of thirds part two: Finished painting
• Negative space: learners to observe negative spaces in a still life then utilise strong negative shapes in designing a composition.
• Colour in composition: Learners to consider the effective juxta positioning of colours to lead the eye and balance the painting.
• Experimental painting: wax resist masking scratching etc
