This course offers the learner a qualification that develops their digital skills and supports them getting into work and performing their job roles effectively.
The qualification reflects the latest government thinking on basic digital skills and the Basic Digital Skills Framework. It is designed to support learners developing their digital skills to improve their employability prospects.
Learners who have previously completed the Digital Skills for Life Beginners and Improvers, can progress onto this course and work toward a level of digital competency essential in the workplace.

In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.

The course provides the learner with an opportunity to:
• use digital skills to handle work-related tasks such as finding information online, storing and retrieving files, creating and editing digital content;
• create and save straightforward documents and sound, image or video files, as appropriate to a work context;
• edit and format work-related documents and input data into existing documents;
• use digital skills to communicate in a work context, for example, to send and receive online communications for work-related purposes, in line with given guidelines;
• use digital devices safely and responsibly, for example, identifying common online risks and threats in a work environment;
• solve simple technical problems.

Please note there will be no teaching sessions on: 03/06/2022 and 08/07/2022.

There is no parking on the campus during the day. Please use Marriotts Walk or Woodford Way Car Parks which are a few minutes’ walk away.
Please report to Reception on arrival. A photo-id will be issued, for you to wear when you attend classes.
There are vending machines available where hot/cold drinks and snacks can be purchased. To reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles/cups, there are watercoolers on site making it easy to refill your water bottle.

Further Digital Skills courses.
Learners should have attended the Digital Skills for Life - Improvers course, or have equivalent skills.
