A one-day introduction to making a range of small gifts and craft items for Christmas.You will gain confidence and skills in a relaxed and friendly learning environment
During the course you will make a range of small fabric items using hand sewing and embroidery techniques.
1. How to measure and cut out accurately and safely2. How to choose patterns and buy suitable fabrics3. How to follow pattern instructions to make a small range of items4. Cover basic hand sewing and embroidery techniques
Do not buy any materials until your course is confirmed as running.
A4 lined & plain paper, pen, pencil, ruler, rubber and calculator.
Basic sewing equipment you will need to bring with you:Fabric scissors, paper scissors’, embroidery scissors, rotary cutter and cutting board (if you have these). Colour-headed pins, hand sewing needles, tape measure, tailors chalk, marking pen and tacking thread. 30cm/12” ruler and any patchwork rulers and templates that you may already have.
Tea/Coffee are available to make, with a small charge. Please bring your lunch with you.In order to reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles/cups, there is a watercooler on site making it easy to refill your water bottle.
