It is planned that this course will be running online, using Teams, for the Autumn Term. This may change, depending on Government guidelines.
Continue to understand and make yourself understood in a range of increasingly unpredictable everyday situations. The focus of this course will be mainly on speaking and listening. The course will include writing short paragraphs in Pinyin, developing some basic skills in reading and writing Chinese characters.
Although this is a continuation course from Beginners, but it is open for all who consider themselves competent at this level.
The main topics are designed for those who wish to converse a little more in the language when visiting the country. By the end of this course you will be able to:

If you are to gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from your language class, it will be useful to spend some time working between sessions. There will usually be a small amount of homework set each week . The course will equip students with some knowledge on radicals for better understanding of the Chinese characters, with grammar structures for more fluent conversation and for writing simple texts on learned topics. We will also introduce some culture/traditions alongside the Chinese festivals, and some common sayings and taboos.
