Hydrotherapy has become a key element of supportive care for our beloved four-legged friends. This course will give you an excellent introduction into canine therapy. The qualification allows learners to gain knowledge and understanding of working within the industry and will enable you to develop the skills required to work as an assistant canine hydrotherapist.

The course is made up of both practical and theoretical sessions at the Common Leys Farm Campus. The campus is equipped with a canine hydrotherapy centre, including a pool, treadmill, underwater camera, gait analysis technology, advanced water maintenance systems and is functioning as a successful therapy business.

The course covers a range of topics including; canine health and welfare, canine behaviour, anatomy and physiology, reception duties and meeting visitors. You do not need any previous experience of training in the field but a passion for dogs is essential. The course supports those who are already working within the animal sector and wish to specialise or those new to the industry. Please note the qualification will not qualify you to be a canine hydrotherapist or practice as canine hydrotherpist. It will enable you to confidently go on to study further specialist qualifications in the area. The course is 2 days a week Monday and Tuesday for 14 weeks. Mondays will be practical at Common Leys and Tuesdays will be online via Microsoft Teams
