Are you interested in starting your career in the world of business? If so, then this Transition Programme offers you the opportunity to embark on your future career! Specialist Business Lecturers will guide, support and work with you to develop your skills and knowledge as you progress through this 1-year programme. You will learn by completing projects and various assessments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The programme introduces you to a range of areas in the exciting world of business whilst you will participate in an extended work experience programme.

The opportunities in business are endless and we want to ensure that you are exposed to as many of these as possible throughout the year. Therefore, we include marketing, customer service, recruitment and selection, finance, retail and so much more!

The course is made up of a range of indusrty driven topics to fully prepare students for their next steps. These include:

• Enterprise in the Business World
• Finance for Business
• Recruitment and Selection
• Introducing Project Management
• Providing Business Support
• Principles of Marketing
• Business Documentation
• Building Successful Teams
Naturally, the next step is the T Level in Business Management and Administration, an apprenticeship or alternative Level 3 programmes.
We want to ensure that this is the right programme for you. Therefore, in order to join the programme, you will need to have a satisfactory interview, as you would in the world of business. We will also require you to have at least 4 x GCSE grade 3/D or above, usually with English and/or maths.

Study trips and visits linked to modules will be arranged as part of your programme of study. These normally include an induction trip and visits to retail outlets and large business organisations. Any applicable fees regarding these trips will be advised at the start of the course. A day trip and induction trip fee will be payable at induction and are correct at the time of writing:

Day trip fees: £60 (this covers two trips)
Induction trip fee: £30 (Venture Vortex)

BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Business as part of the Transition Programme.
The BTEC Level 2 Transition Programme in Business includes the BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Business which uses a blend of assessment methods including reports, assignments, presentations and exams. Extended Work Experiences plays an important role in the Transition Programme.
This course provides students with the opportunity to develop the essential skills required to progress into the business or similar industry. As part of your programme, you will develop the following transferable skills in collaboration with local and regional employers:

• Resilience and problem solving

• Effective communication

• Using your initiative and decision making
