Effective administration is the backbone to almost all successful companies. Every company needs an enthusiastic, professional administrator to make sure that things run smoothly. Whether you prefer a quiet office environment, or would rather be in a fast-paced, dynamic work place, there is bound to be an administration role to suit you.These apprenticeships focus on developing the sense of responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail that is required for administrators and their companies to be successful. Apprentices will learn skills such as how to type up board meeting documents, put financial information together in spreadsheets, send the daily post or fax and photocopy confidential documents. Training will also be provided on diary and meeting management as well as how to work effectively within an office-based environment. At higher levels, apprentices will start to learn how to supervise or manage others, as well as developing skills such as project management, how to use bespoke software packages or how to design and implement new office based systems.

• Office etiquette, including online use • Microsoft Outlook • Effective time management • Professional call handling • Problem solving in a business environment • Customer Service • Taking minutes • Microsoft Word and Excel • Purchase orders and invoicing. Plus a choice of NVQ units to meet the needs of the apprentice and the employer.
Successful completion of this apprenticeship could lead to work-based study at a higher level or full-time permanent employment.
No formal entry requirements. Applicants are likely to have 5 GCSEs A*-C/9-4 or equivalent, and will need to be able to demonstrate the capability to achieve all elements of the apprenticeship during their programme, including working in a suitable job role.

This apprenticeship has an £2000 funding band. Small companies will need to make a small contribution, large companies could pay through the apprenticeship levy.
