Do you know a hard of hearing or deaf person who needs to lipread you? Find out how lipreading works and how you can make some small adjustments in order to become more 'lipreadable'.
In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
This course is for people who know, live with or work with a hard of hearing or deaf person who needs to lipread them to try to understand conversation. This course is a practical workshop.
We will cover:The process of lipreading – some of the different skills that are involved.Environmental factors that can affect lipreading.Communication strategies that facilitate lipreading.
You may like to bring a notebook and pen.
Tea/Coffee are available to make, with a small charge. To reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles/cups, there is a watercooler on site making it easy to refill your water bottle.Free parking.
