Kick-start your career in the world of accounting with our apprenticeship.

Accountancy apprentices work in a wide variety of sizes and types of organisations. Employers depend on their bookkeepers, accountants and finance managers to keep their companies in strong financial health. If you have a methodical and rigorous approach to tasks, and a key eye for detail then you are likely to thrive in this industry.Apprentices will assist in the day to day financial activities such as data entry to month end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements. They will learn how to manage petty cash systems, and basic bookkeeping. Training will also be provided in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns or assisting in the preparation of tax computations. At higher levels, apprentices will have responsibility for creating, and/or verifying and reviewing, accurate and timely financial information which adheres to standard accounting and tax practices.

Scenarios will change over time to ensure the validity of the assessment"
Successful completion of this apprenticeship could lead to work-based study at a higher level or full-time permanent employment.
No formal entry requirements. Applicants are likely to have 5 GCSEs A*-C/9-4 or equivalent and will need to demonstrate the ability to achieve all elements of the apprenticeship during their programme, including working in a suitable job role.
Free to apprentices.

This apprenticeship has an £8,000 funding band.Small companies will need to make a small contribution, large companies could pay through the apprenticeship levy.
