By working closely with a number of schools across Oxfordshire, we have opened up a wide range of vocational courses from different industries, providing students with the opportunity to learn unique practical skills without having to leave school entirely.
You can choose two A levels at the beginning of Year 12 at your school and combine these with a third vocational Level 3 qualification with Abingdon & Witney College.
In Abingdon, the schools offering the Sixth Form Blended Offer are Larkmead, Fitzharrys and John Mason School. Students from Henry Box, Wood Green, Chipping Norton, Marlborough, Carterton, Bartholomew and Burford schools in West Oxfordshire can also take advantage of this study route.

The vocational course that you study with us has the equivalent UCAS points to A levels, so you're not missing out from getting to university at all!
In 2018, 20% of UCAS applications were from students who had studied a vocational qualification.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Sixth Form Blended Offer course and studying Photography with Abingdon & Witney College. It has opened my eyes to another way of learning, not just sitting and listening, and it really pushed me to work harder and achieve more.
I chose the course because I wasn't sure what to do after sixth form and I wanted to take subjects that I enjoyed. I knew I needed a little bit of a fresh start from school, so I decided to give the College a go and I am so glad I did.
The staff at the College are just amazing. They are always there as a helping hand and not just as instructors. My course was very much student-led, and my work was led by all my ideas and thoughts, with the help of my tutor along the way.
Being part of the final exhibition at the end of year 12 and year 13 made you feel even more a part of the College than you already did. You decide how you display your work and hang your work which makes it a lot more fun! Overall, I found the Blended Offer course interesting and fun.

The way the course is working is turning out really well and I enjoy the college days. The people on my course are friendly and my tutor Trina is great and really helpful.
I studied Health & Social Care at school and really enjoyed it and wanted to study it in more depth, so the blended offer was ideal for me as I managed to combine all three subjects that I wanted to study most.
I heard about the blended offer at school open day. I would like to progress onto university after I've completed my A levels and BTEC and I'd definitely recommend learning this way.

The Blended Offer attracted me as I liked the idea of staying at sixth form, but I wanted to be able to develop a skill you couldn’t do at school. Photography has always been a hobby of mine and once I saw the facilities at the College, studying in this way made total sense.
It was a challenge at first, as the Photography qualification is 1 ½ A levels, so the days were longer. What was great though was the balance between exams and projects; the support and teaching style from my tutor, Maurice; and some of the trips, including to Budapest.
I’m now on the Foundation Art course at the College, and I’ve been able to gain some art and design experience and develop my ideas. My plan is to study Graphic Design, something I’ve been interested since my GCSEs, at university.
