This workshop will provide the carer with some basic training in first aid relevant to their everyday life.
Who is this workshop for?Any unpaid carer who is looking after someone with a long-term illness, special need or impairment is invited to join this online course.
What the workshop will cover:This workshop offers carers the opportunity to learn some basic emergency first aid. You will find out what to do in an emergency using some basic methods of assessment. There will also be the chance to ask about specific skills you would like to learn. You will also find out about what to do if someone is unconscious and breathing or is unconscious and not breathing. Course Outcomes By the end of this course, you will be able to: • identify what to do with responsive and unresponsive casualties • recognise how to dress a wound • identify what to do if someone is choking • participate in demonstrations to practise CPR
Tea/Coffee are available to make, with a small charge. There is a watercooler on site making it easy to refill your water bottle. Free parking.
