In this series of creative writing courses, the emphasis is on getting everyone to have a go at writing in every session. The focus is on developing your confidence and abilities, as well as providing opportunities to connect with others in a safe and friendly space and having fun as a group.
The course is delivered Online using Zoom.
Who is this course for?Any unpaid carer who is looking after someone with a long-term illness, special need or impairment is invited to join this online course.
What the course will cover:Free writing forms the basis of this investigation into different writing techniques, proving you with the opportunity to have a go at producing a piece of writing in every session.
The course will include many of the following, but content can be adapted according to the interests of the group:
• Using writing prompts to get started• Descriptive writing• Narrative writing• Exposition writing• Persuasive writing• Writing from different perspectives• Structuring writing• Language techniques• Memoir, autobiography and biography
Course OutcomesBy the end of this course, you will be able to:
• identify how to use writing prompts to get started• demonstrate writing from different perspectives• explore different non-fiction formats
