Matt studied Business and Economics at Solent University, before starting a career as a graduate trainee management accountant for Zurich Financial Services. After two years of working in the financial services sector and a few more years in the retail sector as a regional manager, and enjoying the people side of the business more than the financial side, he moved into the further education sector working for Eastleigh College running a variety of national education and training programmes.
Matt worked for Eastleigh College, Hampshire, for fourteen years as the Vice Principal Commercial, a senior post-holder and member of the senior management team. He has also worked as the Chief Executive Officer for a large national private training provider, a non-executive director for various independent training providers, a consultant for independent training providers providing expert support relating to further education financial health and quality improvement. He is also a Trustee for the largest Multi Academy Trust in Hampshire.
Matt is a market leading sector expert in Apprenticeships, Work Based Learning, Funding and Policy. He joined Abingdon and Witney College in July 2020 and is leading various areas of the college including apprenticeships, work based learning, marketing and business development.
