Inspired trophy design wows audience at WOBA 2017

In what has now become a yearly tradition between the West Oxfordshire Business Awards and the College, two students from the Level 2 Art & Design course saw the fruits of their creative labour reach centre stage.

The Awards celebrate the successes of a wide range of businesses across the district, and with the College’s Witney campus at the heart of the community, it is a great opportunity for students to flex their inventive muscles and design a fitting trophy for the West Oxfordshire Business of the Year Award.

This time round, it was Lily Fowler and Isabel Cooper who won over the WOBA judges and saw their vision for a trophy made into reality by community interest company Synolos. In fact, they even had a hand in making it:

Having revealed the final trophy design at the WOBA launch party in February, excitement for #woba2017 was already bubbling away:

The worthy winners of the Business of the Year Award, sponsored by STL Communications, and recipients of the stunning trophy were the family-owned bakery Huffkins, who have been a finalist for three years running.

Everyone from the creative department and from across the College are immensely proud of Lilly and Isobel for using the practical skills they’ve learnt in such a fantastic way!
