NVQs in the Workplace

Subsidised training in the workplace

NVQs enable experienced members of staff to gain a recognised qualification that supports their on-the-job competence.  They make a statement to your customers about the skills and expertise within your business.

Many of your employees will be eligible for free or heavily subsidised NVQs and all are delivered to the workplace.  Abingdon and Witney College can provide assessments in the following areas:

  • Customer Service
  • Warehousing and Storage
  • Logistics Management
  • Business Administration
  • Team Leading
  • Management
  • Environmental Services
  • Performing Manufacturing Operations
  • Engineering Maintenance
  • Horticulture

Advanced Business Solutions (ABS) have for the third year running delivered more NVQ assessments to Unipart across a range of subjects.  These NVQ’s have ranged from Warehousing and Logistics, Team Leading, Customer Service and Business Administration.  Unipart is a key business partner for Abingdon and Witney College and our training and NVQ assessment extends to their businesses both in the North East and South East regions of the UK.

Glendale Managed Services, an Abingdon and Witney College Customer, recently won the BALI Employer of the year 2011.

Nick Brookes, Glendale's Assistant Regional Director South East, said: "Working with Abingdon and Witney College has been a very fruitful partnership. The service provided by their team was excellent. They put our business needs at the heart of the way they worked and understood in a very short time how they could help us achieve our goals. The end result of 150 NVQ qualifications had a very positive impact. I have no doubt that achieving the NVQs through the College was a very important part of achieving our BALI award this year."

Glendale is the UK's largest specialist provider of green services to the private and public sector.  The college helped their staff achieve more thean 150 NVQs in horticulture, team leading and management during 2011.  The NVQ assessments were delivered in a flexible fashion and at Glendales premises.  The qualifications played an important part in Glendale's success at the British Association of Landscape Industry (BALI) awards.
