Learn English with ESOL & EFL

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) & EFL Courses

On-campus or in-company

ESOL is offered at both the Abingdon and the Witney campuses. In addition, we can also offer ESOL classes taught at your company’s premises (please contact us for bespoke courses).

Levels

There is a wide range of courses at all levels from Entry 1 to Level 2, part time and full time, during the day and the evening.

Full time & PART TIMe Courses

Whether you want to to study full time at 15 hours per week, or part time at hours chosen by you, we will help you to plan a personal programme focusing on the skills you need that meets your individual requirements.

General English & Skills courses

You can choose to study General English courses and any of our skills courses for people who want to focus on a particular aspect of English. These include Grammar, Listening, Speaking & Listening, Reading, Writing and Vocabulary.

Citizenship & English for Work

Citizenship is integrated into all of our General English classes. English for Work is a general course to help you with all aspects of working in the UK.

Exams & Certificates

All ESOL students work towards the Cambridge ESOL Skills for Life certificates in Speaking & Listening, Reading, and Writing. In addition to this, you can prepare for any of the Cambridge main suite exams (PET, First Certificate, Advanced Certificate or Proficiency) as well as IELTS.

Application & Placement Test

When you contact us, you will be sent an application pack with all the course information and the forms you need to fill in. All students must complete a placement test before they enrol, so that we can determine your level of English and advise you about which courses would suit you best. You can take the test at home or in college. When you return the pack to us, we will contact you to invite you for an informal discussion to talk about the courses most suitable for you.

Course fees

The course fees are payable by all students except those in receipt of certain benefits. Many students (including those from the EU) qualify for the home student rate. Otherwise the international fee is payable. When you apply for a course we will ask you to complete a fee assessment questionnaire and provide proof of your status in the UK. Students attending a General English course will also be expected to buy a coursebook which will be used for the whole year; your teacher will give you details.
