Fees
What you need to pay to enrol on a course
Do I have to pay? How much?
How much it will cost you to enrol on a course will depend on
- the type/subject of the course
- whether it is full- or part-time
- your age
- whether you are a home/EU student or a non-EU student.
Full-time courses
If you are under 19 years of age on the 1st September in the year you plan to start the course, you do not normally have to pay any course fees for a full-time course.
However, some full-time courses include a residential week and students normally pay the costs of this.
If you are over 19 years of age, you will need to pay course fees. We will do everything possible to help remove any financial obstacles wherever possible. You can also apply for a Learning Support Fund grant to cover part of the course fees. This is subject to availability. Find out more about financial help for paying course fees.
If you are applying from outside the EU you will need to pay course fees and send a deposit when you apply; prices are available on request. Read more information for international students.
Course fees are payable on enrolment day; do not send money in advance.
All full-time students are normally be supplied with free books and materials, although some specialist courses are obliged to make a charge. We will tell you how much this charge is before the start of your course.
Part-time courses
Anyone enrolling on a part-time course will need to pay a fee.
Course fees are listed against each course in the part-time course prospectus. These fees are made up of a tuition fee and a materials fee (where appropriate) and an examination registration fee (where appropriate). Where an examination registration and materials fee is not included in the original price, we may ask you to pay such a fee during the course of your choice.
You may be entitled to a remission or reduction in your tuition fees under certain circumstances, for example if you are on benefits. Find out more about financial help for paying course fees.
If you do not have a permanent right to remain in the UK, the fees will be different to those listed in the prospectus (except EFL courses). Please get in touch with us for information about these fees.
You can send in course fees with your application form, but if you are paying in cash or claiming a reduction you must enrol in person at the college.
Higher Education (HE) courses
You will have to pay course fees for all HE courses, which include the Degrees, Foundation Degrees, HND and HNC. You will need to pay the fee at the time of enrolment to the University that is offering the course through us.
Students on these courses may be able to get financial help via Student Support through their Local Education Authority (LEA).
If you are applying from outside the EU course fees will be different to those for home/EU students; prices are available on request. Read more information for international students.
Supported Learning and Skills for Life courses
These are free of charge for all home/EU students.
