Course Overview

This group is designed for learners who want to maintain their health and wellbeing through regular Yoga practice.

Course Content

Experience a range of gentle Yoga postures to improve health and wellbeing and lower stress levels. Working at your own pace to carry out stretching, breath work and relaxation in a class with a range of abilities. Bring a Yoga mat and any other equipment that you are used to using for example blocks and belts.

Please note that standing postures will be carried out in bare feet and you will need a blanket
for relaxation. Bring a bottle of water for re-hydration. Abingdon and Witney College is subject to Ofsted visits and have a responsibility to ensure we meet/exceed their requirements. As a result of this you will find you will be expected to understand the government initiatives around Safeguarding, Prevent and Fundamental British Values as well as complete quality monitoring paperwork as part of the course.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course.

Enrolment numbers to our courses are reviewed regularly. To avoid disappointment it is advised to enrol early. Course viability decisions are made two weeks prior to the course start date. Any course changes are communicated via email so please ensure you check your email accounts running up to the course start date.

On the first week of the course you will be required to bring along one form of identification. This could be a passport, driving licence, debit/credit card, Birth Certificate or National Insurance card.

Please Note: Students should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2018.

Learning Methods & Assessment

Teaching will be by a mixture of demonstration, pracitice and group work. There is no accreditation for the course so informal methods of assessment will be used. These include self- assessment, discussion with your tutor and observation.

What Qualification Will I Receive?

This is a non-accredited course, there is no formal qualification

The college provides a number of yoga classes throughout the academic year.

Fee Information

Most courses offered by the college are fully or partly funded, the published fee takes account of that funding. Before you are accepted onto a course you will need to meet a number of conditions relating to your entitlement to funding e.g. your age, residency status within the UK/EEA and prior qualification level. In some circumstances (such as with online enrolments), these checks can only be completed after you have enrolled and paid.
