An informal discussion drop-in group to explore and discuss local, national and international news stories.
This course will cover: reading and discussing the news, identifying real stories from fake stories, vhallenging stereotypes, exploring the world and lives of celebrities and discussing the implications of paparazzi pictures and stories.
Enrolment numbers to our courses are reviewed regularly. To avoid disappointment it is advised to enrol early. Courses with low enrolment numbers two weeks prior to the course start date are at risk of being cancelled. When you enrol on the first week of the course, you will be required to bring along one form of identification. This could be a passport, driving licence, debit/credit card, Birth Certificate or National Insurance card.
Please Note: Students should be 19 or over at 31st August 2017.
Informal community learning uses a range of interactive and discussion based activities as well as practical tasks where appropriate. There is no formal assessment.
This is a non-accredited course.
Learners often progress onto further learning opportunities, volunteering or employment as they begin to recognise their skills and abilities with improved confidence.
Trips and visits may be offered as part of your programme of study but these will be optional and fees will be collected throughout the duration of the course. Details of cost will be provided during the enrolment process if not already above.
