Course Overview

This course covers all aspects of dressmaking and garment construction using paper patterns. Extend your skills and confidence in a relaxed and friendly learning environment.
Sewing machines are provided in the class.

Course Content

This course covers all aspects of dressmaking and garment construction using paper patterns.
1. Building upon your previous sewing experiences.
2. Adjusting paper patterns for best fit.
3. Extending your skills by trying different construction methods. You will learn more advanced sewing techniques needed when using more complex patterns and be able to critique your work and that of others.

The course will not be running on the following dates 24/10/2018 and 31/10/2018 and 19/12/2018 and 26/12/2018 and 02/01/2019 and 09/01/2019 and 16/01/2019 and 20/02/2019

Entry Requirements

Enrolment numbers to our courses are reviewed regularly. To avoid disappointment it is advised to enrol early. Courses with low enrolment numbers two weeks prior to the course start date are at risk of getting cancelled. When you enrol on the first week of the course you will be required to bring along one form of identification. This could be a passport, driving licence, debit/credit card, Birth Certificate or National Insurance card.
There are no formal entry requirements. Learners with some knowledge, those with lots of experience who wish to extend their skills and returning learners from previous courses are welcome.

You can progress by trying the next mixed ability course which will give you the opportunity to advance your skills and techniques or try an improver`s course.

Fee Information

Trips and visits may be offered as part of your programme of study but these will be optional and fees will be collected throughout the duration of the course. Details of cost will be provided during the enrolment process if not already above.
