Lee Stafford Hair & Beauty Academy
From September 2016, Abingdon & Witney College is delighted to announce a partnership with Lee Stafford Education. Abingdon & Witney College will incorporate Oxfordshire’s only Lee Stafford Hair & Beauty Academy.
All treatments are carried out in our professionally assigned Hair & Beauty salons, supervised by our highly experienced members of staff, all trained in the techniques and ‘recipes’ used by the Lee Stafford Academy. Our aim is to provide training for Beauty Therapists and Hair Stylists of the future.
Beauty, complementary therapy and hairdressing
Abingdon and Witney College has brand new, high street quality salon facilities in which you will train and work, and experienced lecturers with extensive industry experience. They will support you as you learn and develop your knowledge across a wide range of services.
You will take part in a range of activities including competitions, shows and voluntary work. We are active participants (and prize winners) at the World Skills competitions in beauty, nail art and complementary therapies which you will be encouraged to enter. A big part of your journey will involve work experience. Spending one day a week in a private salon you will develop great commercial and real workplace skills. Lots of our students go into permanent employment at their placement salons after qualifying.
Here at the College we can help you achieve your goals. Whether you want to run your own business, be a therapist in a salon or travel the world on a cruise ship, the sky is the limit. Starting at Level 1 or 2 you will learn the fundamental skills you will need to progress to the higher levels. As you progress through to achieve Level 3 you will be able to demonstrate professional abilities and you will be ready to start work in a salon.

Being a complementary health therapist requires knowledge of a wide range of skills that help clients to release tension, manage pain and gain flexibility, as well as improving their general feeling of wellbeing. Whether treating clients in the College’s well equipped and up-to-date salons, or outside of College working in different environments, like a hospice, you will gain a realistic idea of what it is like to work as a complementary therapist. Our courses meet the National Occupational Standards which mean that once you have passed the course you can enter into practice and start making a real difference to people.

Hairdressing is an energetic creative industry and there are awide variety of careers that you can follow once qualified. At Abingdon and Witney College we offer a structured route to achieving the exacting standards required by salons and customers. We have a wide range of industry recognised qualifications taught by tutors with extensive industry experience. Courses take you through from a solid grounding in the essential skills at Level 1 right through to the highest qualification available within the industry doing advanced work at Level 3.
