Learner Support Grant
Help for students in paying for course fees and study-related expenses
If you don’t qualify for a concession, but have genuine financial difficulty because of your study, you may be eligible for a Learner Support Grant.
This is a bursary from a government Learner Support fund and is available to all learners aged 16+. It can help with registration-related costs (exam fees, course materials fees) and other course costs e.g. books and equipment. It can help learners aged 19+ with travel costs, and learners aged 20+ with childcare. It cannot help learners aged 16-18 with travel costs as this is now the responsibility of the local education authority. It cannot help learners aged 19+ with the tuition fee element of course fees.
