Oxfordshire Online Digital Champions – Volunteer

Would you like to put your technical skills to good use?
Could you spare 2 hours every 4 weeks?

Oxfordshire Adult Learning are looking for volunteers to help deliver our Oxfordshire Online digital literacy programme in libraries across Oxfordshire.
Oxfordshire Adult Learning have joined up with Oxfordshire Libraries to deliver Oxfordshire Online, a series of bespoke digital literacy workshops to help anyone 19+ feel more confident about using technology and the internet.
Volunteers will support our qualified tutors, helping our learners to get the most out of our digital literacy workshops.
Good IT skills, patience and a passion for helping other people are essential attributes for the role.
We’ll support you to get the most from volunteering. Oxfordshire Adult Learning offer a wide range of courses and workshops designed to help volunteers develop specific skills within the volunteering sector, such as communication; leadership; awareness; and mentoring
We’re looking for volunteers in Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester, Blackbird Leys, Cowley, Didcot, Henley, Kidlington, Oxford Central, Thame, Wantage, and Witney libraries.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the most successful college in Oxfordshire as Head of Higher Education.  Reporting directly to the Vice Principal Curriculum and Quality, you will lead on developing and implementing the College’s Higher Education Strategy incorporating provision covering Foundation Degrees, Bachelor Degrees, Degree Apprenticeships and Higher Nationals.  You will work collaboratively with and in support of faculty teams to promote the development of teaching, learning and assessment within Higher Education and take a lead on implementing the Teaching Excellence Framework on behalf of the College.   As a key member of the College Leadership Team, you will act as an advocate for Higher Education programmes and students throughout the College and externally, liaising between all stakeholders as needed.

For this important role, you will have a keen interest and passion for keeping ahead of the curve in the higher education landscape.  You will be a qualified teacher and have experience in leading and managing higher education programmes.  You need to have excellent stakeholder management skills and be able to inspire and influence others in pursuit of excellence.

Curriculum Manager – English and Maths – Full Time – Permanent based at The Union, Cowley, Oxfordshire

Abingdon and Witney College are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking Curriculum Manager to mainly oversee the adult English and maths provision across Oxfordshire.  This is a large county-wide provision covering both GCSE and Functional Skills, from entry to level 2.

The English and Maths Faculty is staffed by talented, experienced staff who use innovative methods to deliver the curriculum. We are passionate about providing the qualifications and training that local employers and communities need, not only in the form of qualifications but also holistic employability skills.

There is an expectation that the successful candidate will:
•Teach English and/or maths
•Be an outstanding teacher
•Be able to communicate confidently with students and staff from all levels
•Support lecturers to ensure that there is a first-class delivery
•Line manage permanent and hourly paid lecturers
•Be able to travel between campuses at short notice
•Be able to work flexibly, including working in evenings
•Work closely with our marketing department to develop strategies to grow this provision across the county.

The Faculty of Service Industries are looking to appoint hourly paid staff in Health and Social Care.

We offer full-time and part-time courses in Health and Social Care ranging from level 1 to 3, and will commence delivery of part-time HNC/NHD courses in Health and Social Care at level 4 and level 5 in September 2017.

Successful candidates will hold relevant professional qualifications, have experience within industry and have a keen interest in education.

Although a teaching qualification (PTLLS, DTLLS, AET or DET) is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the college to gain a recognised qualification.
